This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I was honoured to be invited by the Healthcare Quality Improvement Partnership (HQIP) to share my story as part of their national campaign.
This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I was honoured to be invited by the Healthcare Quality Improvement Partnership (HQIP) to share my story as part of their national campaign.
HQIP works with the NHS to improve the quality of care patients receive, so being asked to sit at that table as a patient voice meant a great deal to me.
In the interview I talk about what I've learned from both sides of the hospital door. Why data and patient experience need each other. Why care has to look at the whole person, not just the condition. And how one social media post during Awareness Month prompted me to check myself, and changed everything.
As I said to HQIP, I feel like I can be the person behind the numbers.
A heartfelt thank you to Kim Rezel and Lacia Ashman at HQIP for giving my voice a platform.
If my story leaves you with one thing, let it be this. Get to know your normal, check yourself this month, and every month. It could save your life, just as it saved mine.
To help you start, I've created a free Know Your Normal guide. Pop your email in and it's yours straight away.
Want to read where my journey began? My book, Why Me? My Fight for Life from Heartbreak to Hope, tells the story in full.
